Funny Cartoon Freeze Frames Scooby Doo
Everything is funny – just look closer™
I'thousand Colin, a geeky lensman (photo blog! | Instagram!) who riffs on everything – including old Scooby-Doo episodes. 7 days a calendar week, 365 days a year, SDM delivers shenanigans straight to your dashboard. Bring together the party!
Turns out, the animators drew some pretty ridiculous things... and it makes the evidence infinitely funnier.

Here we have Shag & Scoob, walkin' along, bein' decoys… pretty normal Fri night for them, at this point.
But suddenly…
…BAM! Shaggy teleports from one side of Scooby to the other!
…Repeatedly, really. Information technology actually slipped into their standard walking animation.
Oh, and by the style, they made a large deal out of the road existence called "Beach Boulevard," hence the title of this post. Come across, I don't merely randomly make upwardly all the puns! Here at Scooby-Doo Mistakes, every pun is carefully hand-crafted from simply the finest Scooby-Doo references.
Watching shows for SDM, I'll ofttimes wonder if, subconsciously, I picked upwards on a change.
Every bit if something happened for a single frame, while my eyes were directed elsewhere.
Ordinarily it'southward zip, or a teensy fault entirely too small to joke about.
On the flipside, withal…
…every once in a while…
…it'due south somethin'amazing.
Carl the Animator:"Oh, lamentable! Thought the scene was over."
Ted the Animator:"…then you started removing graphic symbol cels?"
Carl the Animator:"Yeah."
Ted the Animator:"…but only one."
Carl the Animator:"Yeah."
Ted the Animator:"…and then shot another frame."
Carl the Animator: "…"
Ted the Animator: "…"
Carl the Animator: "…I was gonna make a'Hanna-Barbera x I Dream of Jeannie' crossover joke here, but… patently they actually fabricated that in 1973."
Ted the Animator: "It's one of the cardinal rules of animation history. If it exists, Hanna-Barbera made a version of it in the '70s. No exceptions."
Y'see folks, traditional blitheness is done "on ones" or "on twos."
Essentially, it means whether there'due south a change every frame, or every other frame!
This is why faster motion on twos looks kinda inclement, being only 12 frames per second…
…only looks so gorgeously-fluid at 24!
Especially with a gelatinous caveman trip the light fantastic.
At present, what happens when you isolate the difference betwixt, say, the smoothen background and its half-speed walking bike?
Art. That's what happens.
Twos aren't only an invaluable time-saving technique or aesthetic choice – they also allow the pause button warp time and space!
"So, how does it affect your life, running a humor blog with a pretty decent following?"
"Well, for i affair, y'all showtime getting way too excited when yous realize you can infinitely-loop an octopus being served punch."
"…oh."
"I know, right? It's quite a rush."
Equally fun every bit this is, Tumblr's maximum gif file size of 1.75 mb is quite irksome. A long animation like this simply is possible at this tiny size, and with this much compression. Curse you, Tumblr, and your Scooby-eating-turkey-fun-killing ways!
One of the all-time $.25 of traditional animation is everything beingness on a physical layer.
Change the transparent layers in forepart of something? Fun effulgence changes happen.
Or, do that, and slightly alter everything's position…
…and your characters can be radioactive, existing outside the infinite-fourth dimension continuum!
Go on, just try havin' easter eggs similar that, figurer animation.
